The speculation of the popular character's sexuality has been turned up recently and one of the story creators Robert Kirkman addressed the topic directly in the letter column to "The Walking Dead" #130.
Kirkman told ComicBook.com, “All I can say is that it’s been discussed. We have very specific ideas about Daryl’s sexuality (or the seeming lack thereof), and if there’s ever a quiet period in the show where he’s not consistently distracted by crossbowing… we’ll tackle it in the show.”
According to Hypable, he also reportedly said that AMC "absolutely would" allow the tv show's creators to have Daryl be gay.
Daryl Dixon is one of the lead characters in AMC's "The Walking Dead", and is portrayed by the popular actor Norman Reedus. The crossbow carrying character is a fan favorite and has established a close relationship with two female characters in the series. Most recently in Season 4, Dixon and Beth Greene (played by actress Emily Kinney) are separated from the group and form a tight bond. Daryl acts as her protector, and some fans have speculated a love interest among the two might eventually occur as the female character ages.
AMC "The Walking Dead" The Complete Fourth Season releases on Blu-ray + Digital HD with Ultraviolet and DVD on August 26, 2014 from Anchor Bay Entertainment. "The Walking Dead" Season 5 premieres on Sunday, October 12 on AMC. Check out the Season 5 trailer at the top of the page.
