The Walking Dead - Clear - aired 3/3 (Photos)

In the beginning of this this episode of the Walking Dead we find that Rick, Michonne and Karl are out on a run together. The real feeling of living after a zombie apocalypse is shown when they pass a man with a backpack who is asking for help and although Karl looks at the man, Rick and Michonne seem uncaring. They then drive by a sign left for someone named Erin. A short distance down the road they try to drive around a car accident and get stuck in the mud. As the car is surrounded by walkers you can see that one of them is wearing a bracelet with Erin written on it. The man they saw before is seen running down the road, still asking for help. Rick seems to be on a mission, not just a run.

Things start to look a bit familiar as we find that Rick has driven them to the police station where he worked. Inside we find that the guns are all gone but Rick thinks that he knows where there are a few more. He and Michonne seem to have a tender moment, well tender for those two. They are both clearly hardened from the life that they have been forced to live in a land filled with walkers. Rick notices some arrows on the ground and some odd writings on the wall as they head into town to look for guns that knows are there. They come across a barrier of sorts, clearly not accidental items. We know the prison group is in trouble and the crazed Governor will be paying them a visit. Of course that’s if Andrea didn’t do him in yet. A walker tries to follow the trio through the blockade. Michonne wants to go back and kill but Rick says that it will get caught and it does. This reveals the person keeping up the area who not only shoots the walker but starts taking shots at the three of them as well. During the shoot out Michonne goes to the roof to try to take out the shooter and Karl ends up shooting him. Rick sees quickly that he is wearing body armor and little Karl didn’t actually kill the man. Once unmasked we get a real shock to see who this man is!

Rick explains to Michonne that he knows this man and that he saved his life and has a son. Yes, this is the man that we have been wondering about. In a heart felt moment, Rick finds the radio that he gave him. Michonne is concerned that Rick wants to wait until he wakes up before they leave and to ease her nerves he ties him up with zip ties. In a drawn map on the wall Karl sees his neighborhood and a note saying that his house is burned down. Karl tells his Dad that he wants to go on a run to a baby store near by and Michonne says that she will go with him. For a brief moment Karl escapes Michonne’s watchful eye and he tells her that he needs to get Judith (the baby) something else first. Rick tells his long lost friend that he is sorry that this happened to him and he starts to come to but Rick doesn’t notice. Morgan doesn’t seem to recognize Rick and stabs him in the shoulder. Once away from Morgan’s grasp Rick hits him with his gun and points a gun at him. It seems that Morgan is far different than he was a year ago and begs for Rick to him but he doesn’t.

Morgan continues to beg Rick to kill him as Rick wraps up his stab wound and Morgan seems to be having trouble remembering Rick and pulling his head together. It seems that Morgan lost his mind some place when he didn’t hear Rick on the radio at dawn every morning like he promised. If you remember back to the first season, Morgan’s wife was a walker and we left off with him looking through a gun at her but he never pulled the trigger. He tells Rick that later on he watched his wife attack his son after Rick left and had to kill them. This is a pain that Rick knows well as he has been in that situation. Not sure why but he withholds the fact that Karl had to kill his Mom and share with Morgan the pain and suffering that comes from surviving in this world.

It looks like Karl wants to go into a bar and grill and Michonne stops him when sees that it is flooded with walkers. Karl is determined and Michonne knows that if he goes alone that he will be killed and she shows her protective instincts. So what was so important that Karl had to have, it was a photo of his parents that was on the wall. They come up with a plan to get in and out but it fails and they end up leaving with out the photo. Michonne goes back in while Karl waits outside for the photo and she is successful by herself with Karl sanding outside the door acting as a diversion. In a funny moment Michonne shows Karl a colorful cat statue that she also brought out, saying “I had to go back in anyway, I just couldn’t leave this behind.” We find that Rick has brought Morgan’s mind back a bit and tells him that he wants Morgan to come with him. Morgan understands that Rick needs the guns because someone is after what they have and doesn’t want to go with him. It seems that Morgan’s agenda is now to “clear” and he does not seem to care about anything else.

Karl and Michonne did make it to the baby store and got a playpen and some other items and they leave Morgan clearing the walkers that have been caught in the traps. At the car Karl tells his Dad that Michonne might be one of them and shows that he likes her after all. Michonne asks Rick if he saw something because she knows that he sees things and then admits to him that she used to see her dead boyfriend and talked to him. Michonne drives them back toward the prison, avoiding the muddy spot that they got stuck in before near the car accident. They come across what is left of the man that they saw on the road before that was asking for help and pick up his backpack. The episode ends with the trio driving back to the prison with a car full of guns and things for the baby.
