It has been 4 episodes since Rick banished Carol Peletier’s from the prison and fans of “The Walking Dead” have been waiting for the moment when Rick finally told him. That moment finally came on Sunday, Dec. 1 in “Too Far Gone,” the midseason finale of season 4. As prison lay under siege, Rick finally told Daryl what happened to Carol as reported on Wetpaint on Dec. 1
Rick calmly explains that he banished her because she killed “two of our own.” He tells him she couldn’t be here anymore, she’ll be okay. Daryl looks really mad but says nothing. Rick continues explaining that she said she did it to protect the group and that she didn’t regret doing it. Daryl says that isn’t her – the same thing many of us were thinking when we first heard.
There is no backlash, no punch in the face. Though visibly upset, Daryl does not lash out at Rick as many expected. Instead, Daryl goes off with Rick to find Tyrese and break the news to him that it was Carol who killed Karen and David. That revelation was interrupted, though. Saved for another day.
Do you think Daryl’s reaction to Rick banishing Carol was right? Should he have been angrier or does his reaction make you think he accepted Rick’s explanation and may even agree with it to some extent? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
