Dancehall superstar, Vybz Kartel, has to wait until May 2013 to hear his fait in his ongoing murder trial. The entertainer, along with his other co-accused, Lenburgh McDonald and Nigel Thompson were charged with the murder of the businessman, Barrington ‘Bossy’ Burton.
The incident occurred over two years ago in July 2011. Since then, Vybz Kartel has been under lock down at the Horizon Remand Center, where he is still awaiting trial. Vybz Kartel was to appear in the Home Circuit Court. The trouble, however, pertained to an uncooperative witness to result in the delay of the court case. These incidents have become all too common in this ongoing saga for the dancehall entertainer. Previous court hearings have been cancelled due to a witness’ reticent, or even. A defense attorney who was unable to show up in court.
The court was informed that these witnesses did not want to appear in court. Could these witnesses be in fear of their life, only remains a mystery. Vybz Kartel has three charges against him and these include. A murder, conspiracy to murder, and the illegal possession of a firearm charge. Vybz Kartel, Lenburgh McDonald and Nigel Thompson have to be back in court in late May 2013.
The new trial date is May 27, 2013. This will be the exact same day that Vybz Kartel will appear in court for a second murder case. The legal loophole of this story pertains to the entertainer’s bail disqualification. This means that Vybz Kartel is still unable to leave the Horizon Remand Center because he was unable to win bail in this second murder case; even though, he has won bail from the first murder case.
This means that Vybz Kartel will remain in the Horizon Remand Center until May 27, 2013 to begin court proceedings about the Barrington ‘Bossy’ Burton murder case, as well as, the Clive ‘lizard’ Williams murder case.
