"The Voice" season 5 premieres in just hours and the judges will hear the blind auditions. In a preview report published Sept. 23, BuddyTV reveals that one of the contestants will be an early favorite. In "The Voice" sneak peek glimpse, Matthew Schuler, makes quite an impression on the judges.
Schuler will perform "Cough Syrup" by Young the Giant. As seen in the spoilers footage, all four judges turn around at the same time -- with Adam pushing his button a second earlier. He and Christina both stand on their chair to get Schuler's attention because they really want this singer on their team! Blake and Cee Lo play it a little calmer and tell Schuler what a great job he does with a rousing endorsement.
Adam takes aim at Blake trying to win Schuler on his team by saying Blake is due for a loss on the "The Voice" after winning three seasons. Blake says his wife, Miranda, would fall in love with his talent, Cee Lo gets deep in his selling efforts, and Christina informs Schuler he could help her get the first female "Voice" win. She urges him to "break that cycle" of the men winning on "The Voice."
Matthew Schuler has a hard time making up his mind when the pressure is on him to make his pick. He says he feels honored that all four judges like him. He taps his chest lightly with his fist saying, "My heart is telling me to go with...."
"The Voice" season 5 premieres on NBC at 8 p.m., ET/PT.
