Sonia Rao brings her distinct voice to her music and to everything she does. In this first part of this unique interview the artist emotionally discusses being on reality T.V. on "The Voice," words on L.A., and starting her upcoming new residency of Thursday night shows in Venice:
W.E. As an artist, you truly have found your own voice. You also performed on the show "The Voice." Can you share what this experience was like?
S.R. Being on "The Voice" was both incredibly fun and emotional. The experience changed me – all the time you spend in that hotel room, the time you spend with all of the other artists on the show, the reality T.V. aspect of it all, your brain taking it all in. It was a pretty amazing experience, and I’m thankful for what it taught me, and for the beautiful people I met.
W.E. What's next on your creative palette as musician?
S.R. I am working on the second album right now and I’m very excited about it. A lot has happened in this last year with "The Voice," my own relationships, and traveling around, so now I’m just writing it all down into songs.
W.E. If you described L.A. in seven words, which would they be?
W.E. Where can fans look to find more of, and more about, your wonderful live and recorded music?
