After the first grueling round of live shows from Monday night’s episode of "The Voice," two of the top 12 were sent home, and almost wiped out Team Shakira. However, it was a favorite from Team Usher that was unfortunately eliminated after he poured his heart out on stage.

Technical issues and a microphone failure didn’t stop Kristen Merlin as one of the first voted over to the top 10. Yet, what was Shakira’s reason for lip-synching her latest hit "Empire?" It paled in comparison to the performances of Team Adam with Mr. Levine, who opened Tuesday night’s results show of “The Voice,” and Team Blake with his three powerhouses, all of which didn’t disappoint. Shakira had the fire, but no heat.

However, all that glitters isn’t gold as the bottom three were finally revealed on “The Voice” live eliminations: T.J Wilkins of Team Usher who sang “Waiting for the World to Change” on Monday along with two from Team Shakira, Dani Moz and Tess Boyer.

The Long Island Reality TV Examiner predicted Tess Boyer would not make it to next week’s episode of “The Voice” after her poor rendition of Bon Jovi’s “I’ll be there for you.” And it came as no surprise that Dani Moz, who oversang Pink’s “Just give me a Reason,” was also in the bottom three, as Adam Levine felt it lacked a “moment.”

Viewers tweeted to save one of the three in a very small window of opportunity, and it appeared this writer was wrong as fan voted to keep Tess Boyer. However, despite a strong show of support for Team Shakira, it wasn’t enough to save Dani Moz or Team Usher’s T.J Wilkins. Tess Boyer will return as one of the top 10 when "The Voice" returns next Monday evening.
