"The Voice" coach Blake Shelton has spoken out against the Westboro Baptist Church. On Oct. 15, TMZ reported that Shelton let it rip after Usher's birthday bash at Bootsy Bellows nightclub. The country star was on his way out when cameras caught up with him and a cameraman asked him how he felt about the Westboro Baptist Church threatening to picket one of his concerts.
"The Westboro Baptist Church can blow me (sic)," Shelton responded. "Yeah, really they can. Can you quote me on that?" Blake asked, clearly a little drunk. "They can blow me. I think that's one of the commandments," he added before getting into the back of a black SUV.
Blake Shelton and the Westboro Baptist Church have been at odds since the church started getting on Blake for being a "vulgar adulterer." The church feels this way because Blake went through a divorce and then remarried, something that is not okay by this particular group's standard.
The feud really kicked up in September when Blake and the WBC went back and forth a bit on Twitter. Blake took advantage of the situation and sent out a tweet calling the group "dipshits." Evidently he's not afraid of any consequences and he's not about to put up with any bologna either.
Blake Shelton's latest comments have already been addressed by the Westboro Baptist Church. "Is @BlakeShelton drunk because his conscience screams at him that hell is coming quickly? #ProudAdultery (sic)," read their Twitter account. A sign in Shelton's "honor" was also posted demanding Blake to "repent."
