'The Voice' 2014 top 5 odds favor Christina Grimmie

"The Voice" 2014 returns to NBC on May 12 as the top five hopefuls hit the stage to sing again for America's votes. With just a wek remaining until the season six champion is crowned, the newly blonde Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is favored to win his third mentoring title, according to betting odds posted to Bovada Sportsbook on May 10.

Heavily favored to win with competition-crushing 1/5 odds is the first of Levine's two remaining acts, 20-year old Christina Grimmie. The aspiring vocalist, who entered the season as an established YouTube sensation with a hefty following in place, has earned two iTunes vote multipliers with her creative takes on Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home" and Lil' Wayne's "How to Love."

Ranked second most likely to win the season with 9/2 odds is Usher's final surviving contestant, Josh Kaufman. Like Grimmie, the bespectacled Kaufman has earned two vote multipliers for his work on the show, one for Sam Smith's "Stay with Me," and the other for "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt.

Holding the middle ground with 12/1 odds is Kristen Merlin of Team Shakira. Merlin, an up and coming country singer, has yet to snag a vote multiplier, but she's performed consistently well on iTunes, earning a top 30 finish every week, and has never been in danger of elimination following a nationwide vote.

The same cannot be said for the next contestant in line, Team Adam's Kat Perkins. Although the rocker girl isn't the competition long shot with 14/1 odds of victory, she has twice been the recipient of the Twitter Instant Save and has not carried quite the same level of fan support as the other four remaining contestants.

Bringing up the rear of the pack with 18/1 odds of winning the season is Jake Worthington, the last of country star Blake Shelton's team members. Worthington, like Merlin, has performed consistently well on the iTunes chart, finishing in the top 40 with all three of his live show numbers, but has yet to earn a vote multiplier.

"The Voice" 2014 resumes May 12 on NBC. The week's results will follow May 13.
