"The Voice" 2013 returns to NBC on Nov. 4 with the first of three consecutive evenings of playoff round action. Finalists representing the teams coached by country music star Blake Shelton and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine will take the mic on night one, and a Nov. 1 Yahoo! TV article offered a peek at the songs that the 10 talented aspiring performers will deliver to win America's votes.
But there's a big catch: although all of the track titles are listed, the corresponding contestant names are not given, which sets up a guessing game for show fans. The 10 songs included on the set list are:
- "Nothin' On You" by B.O.B. featuring Bruno Mars
- "Still Into You" by Paramore
- "Many Rivers to Cross" by Jimmy Cliff
- "Secrets" by OneRepublic
- "A Case of You" by Joni Mitchell
- "Home" by Marc Broussard
- "Fancy" by Bobbie Gentry, covered by Reba McEntire
- "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke
- "She Talks to Angels" by The Black Crowes
- "Maggie May" by Rod Stewart
The finalists competing as part of Team Blake include pageant girl Shelbie Z, soul singer Ray Boudreaux, musical theater performer Nic Hawk, guitar-toting Austin Jenckes, and multi-talented instrumentalist Cole Vosbury.
Hopefuls representing Team Adam are wedding singer Grey, computer geek turned vocal powerhouse James Wolpert, Jamaican sensation Tessanne Chin, Christian rock band member Preston Pohl, and Will Champlin, the very last performer to earn a spot in the top 20.
The only near-certainties when it comes to which contestant will sing which song involve Shelbie Z and Hawk. As the lone female country singer in the mix, Shelbie is the obvious choice to take on the country hit "Fancy," which was a top 10 hit for McEntire in 1991. It's also easy to see the quirky Hawk performing the mega-hit "Blurred Lines," given his sound and eccentric style.
"The Voice" 2013 continues Nov. 4 with the first live show of season five.
