The Village Antiques & Collectibles Show is Aug. 24-25, 2013 at Park Circle in North Charleston. The city of North Charleston sponsors these great shows and their website www.northcharleston.org has all the information. Parking is free. The hours are 10am-5pm both Saturday and Sunday.
This is now the only regularly scheduled antique show in the Lowcountry. Most of the antique dealers have quality antiques that are beautiful, practical and affordable. This show promises to have a lot of things that are “new to the market”. Some of the best antique dealers you can expect to be there are Peggy Smith, Rochelle Conley, Cindy Mizzell, and John Brown and Melissa Henley.
The weather promises to be great and most antique shoppers are anxious to get out and find something to add to their collection or match what they have. Most of the dealers spend a lot of time finding just the right antiques, the most popular and trendy things.
There really is something for everyone. There is a lot of retro and nostalgic things as well as some of the very old traditional antiques. The shows are held about every two months. People should follow their website and mark their calendars to keep up with them. The city of North Charleston deserves a lot of credit for encouraging these antique shows. They sponsor them and advertise them. No other city or town does as much for the antiques community.
