'The View' shakeup: Former co-hosts argue over Rosie O'Donnell's possible return

The View” has caused quite a stir this summer. Just a few weeks ago it was announced that Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy would not be returning for Season 18. Some fans were shocked and others just assumed change was on the horizon. Now that the shakeup drama has died down, rumors of who will be coming to the table have been circulating. Rosie O'Donnell is one of the names being tossed around. According to a July 10 report from E! Online, Joy Behar and Rosie O'Donnell are unhappy with the comments former co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck made about O'Donnell.

News that Rosie O'Donnell has struck a deal to join “The View” for Season 18 has been popping up all over the place. O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck had a confrontation on-air in 2007 which was heated. When Hasselbeck heard O'Donnell was possibly headed back to sit at the table, she called into her show “FOX & Friends” and made some pretty harsh comments. Both Joy Behar and O'Donnell have spoken out about the hateful comments, and Behar challenged Hasselbeck to explain herself.

Right now there haven't been any comments made by Rosie O'Donnell about her deal with “The View,” or whether or not she is really coming back for Season 18. O'Donnell has been on Twitter answering positive comments and responding to people who have taken up for her with the Elisabeth Hasselbeck comments. It seems like the possibility of having O'Donnell sit back at the table is greater than many think.

Season 18 of “The View” begins in just a few months. Right now the only confirmed member of the table is Whoopi Goldberg. Fans are excited to see who will be seated with her. Rumors of possible male co-hosts have also been circulating. It looks like ABC is trying to compile a table which represents America today, rather than just liberal and conservative women.
