After a summer of speculation, two new co-hosts were announced for "The View." Several guesses as to who would round out the morning talk show cast were very wrong. On Thursday, ABC News announced that Rosie Perez and Nicole Wallace will join the upcoming season of "The View."

Perez and Wallace will join Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell as the full time co-hosts for this upcoming season. They were chosen because of their outspoken and opinionated nature. Perez, 49, is an actress best known for movies like "White Men Can't Jump" and her most recent notable movie is "Pineapple Express." Wallace, 40, is a well known political analyst and author.

Rosie Perez and Nicole Wallace are replacing previous hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy. Shephard exited the view after seven seasons. McCarthy was replaced after just one season of the show.

Rosie O'Donnell is headed back to "The View" after a long hiatus. Many were surprised at news that O'Donnell would be back after she famously exited the show due to an on screen argument with another former co-host, Elisabeth Hasslebeck.

The only returning member of "The View" from last season is Whoopi Goldberg. Barbara Walters retired from her position at the head of the table.

"The View" returns on September 15 to ABC. What do you think of the new cast and do you plan to watch this upcoming season? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
