The Very Hungry Caterpillar 40th anniversary!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar's 40th birthday is upon us! The book, written by Eric Carle, was first published in March 1969 and has been translated in 47 languages. The artwork, as in all of Carle's books, are unique and recognizable, as he uses collage technique. Hand painted papers with colorful bright images which has been making children smile for 40 years.

Most of Eric Carle's stories revolve around educational nature, from his own knowledge and experiences.

Although listed below are the official tour dates for the 40th year anniversary celebration, several libraries and bookstores around the world are holding special celebrations over the next several months. Hats off Mr. Carle, for you have brought great wonder and excitement not only to myself as a child as well as my own children and children around the world!
