With Rebekah’s return last week in “After School Special” we saw the race for the vampire cure begin and everyone, it seems, has their own motives for wanting to find it. By the end of the episode the original vamp teams up with a despondent Stefan. Now the powers that be have released a sneak peek for what's coming in February (TV Overmind, Jan. 23).
Professor Shane will be leading the group on an expedition to a mysterious island near Nova Scotia during “Into The Wild.” The professor will share a bit more about Silas and the witch, Qetsiyah. A suspicious Damon thinks “professor creepy-pants” is leading them into a trap. Rebekah and Elena still have no use for each other and will continue bickering leaving Stefan with the unending chore of keeping the peace. Back in Mystic Falls, Bonnie will be working with Jeremy to figure out the hunters mark while Caroline will get caught in the middle of a violent confrontation between Tyler and Klaus.
“Down the Rabbit Hole” will pick up where “Into The Wild” left off. Professor Shane and the group will meet one of The Five, Vaughn, whom Damon has an ugly run in with. Meanwhile, Stefan and Elena discuss his feeling on what the cure and becoming human again. Caitlyn (Camille Guaty), a woman from Shane’s past appears. Back in Mystic Falls, Jeramy will help Bonnie distinguish reality from illusion while Caroline and Tyler try to crack the code on the Hunter’s Sword with the help of Klaus.
A revelation is made about the cure, and it might make a difference in everyone’s motives for wanting to find it.
