Katherine settled in nicely in Elena's body in Thursday, Feb. 6's episode of "The Vampire Diaries," 513, "Total Eclipse of the Heart," which saw someone become privy to what was going on – but would it cost him?

Katherine was...happy? As this "TVD" episode began, Katherine-in-Elena's body (let's call her Katelena to make things easier) adopted Elena's diary writing habit to express just how much she loved her new life. She was young, healthy, and gorgeous, nothing was in danger of sagging, her hair wasn't turning gray, everyone loved her, and most importantly, she was a vampire again. Oh, and even more importantly, she could win Stefan back. The first step to doing that was deleting all the Delena photos from Elena's phone and setting a Stelena one as the wallpaper.

The next step was to invite him to the college's Bitter Ball when he called to chat about Damon and his old murder buddy Enzo, and to share a dance where she came across as so happy, he didn't want to ruin it by telling "Elena" her friend was dead. Instead, Katelena was left to pretend to care when she found out Jeremy was in trouble, with her daughter having to practically force her since Katelena was too focused on dreaming about how Stefan would be there for "Elena" if her brother died.

Katelena still played up being worried to win sympathy points, and after saving Jeremy, she did so again when she revealed she knew Aaron was dead since they had been able to enter Whitmore House. She wanted them to be able to be honest with one another, and he confessed that from the moment he saw her falling for his brother, he had been waiting for Damon to screw up so much that she'd hate him. But he had liked the person his brother had become, and he didn't want to lose him. Katelena wanted to win Stefan back, so she told him she'd help him save Damon for him.

Rampaging again Yes, Damon was back to his bad self with Enzo around – killing people, leaving them in trunks, and more focused on Enzo being out of practice driving than Aaron being dead (and leaving Stefan to find a new hobby). Stefan tried to threaten him away from his brother, but even putting a shovel to his throat didn't stop him from having fun with his old friend. When their next target, Dr. Wes, was nowhere to be found, and the head of campus security, Diane, was no help, she was crossed off the list, and they decided to turn to a certain (former) witch for help by threatening Jeremy's life – and leaving him in the care of crazy Enzo.

Fortunately, Bonnie had seen a classmate making a pen spin on her desk, so all she had to do was track her down at the Ball to do a locator spell on the good ol' mad scientist. Unfortunately, this girl had no idea what she was doing and had only caused a bunch of destruction so far. That meant it was time for a crash course of Witchcraft 101 from Bonnie, all while Enzo decided he'd had enough of waiting and put a plastic bag over Jeremy's head.

In the end, Bonnie got the girl to help them by showing her a photo of Jeremy – cute yes, but more importantly, his life was in her hands – and agreeing it was on her if this girl went all Carrie on the school. While Katelena saved Jeremy, Stefan confronted Enzo again, but Damon interrupted to tell him he knew where Dr. Wes was. When Stefan told him not to come back, Damon told him he wasn't planning on it.

Drinking to forget…and remember Meanwhile, Nadia was stuck drinking at the Grill and only hearing from her mother when she needed her to compel something out of Matt. So much for any mother-daughter bonding time. Tyler showed up to continue to drink enough to try to forget what Caroline did to him, and while Matt tried to warn him away from Nadia – "The psycho doesn't fall far from the tree" – the three did shots and reminisced about their mothers. (Remember when Tyler slept with Matt's?)

But when Tyler left to go to the bathroom, he overheard Nadia asking Matt about Enzo and compelling him, so first chance he got, he made sure his friend got some vervain in him. (Coffee: It's not just good for hangovers.) Unfortunately, Nadia caught on and snapped Tyler's neck, and while Matt told him she just wanted to talk to someone about her mother, when he joined her, he revealed that he knew that Katherine had jumped into Elena's body. But what was Nadia going to do to him after she got the vervain out of his system?

Uh-oh, Damon trouble Finally, Dr. Wes had a new mad scientist lab set up in an abandoned hospital and a new subject in Joey, but he needed money for his research. That was where the mysterious Sloan came in. She also was the one to tell him Aaron was missing and probably dead, but he was likely next, so he should trust her. When Damon and Enzo showed up to kill Dr. Wes, however, they ran into a problem: Travelers. Yes, Dr. Wes allied himself with Travelers and he injected Damon with something. As the episode ended, Damon found Joey, fed from him, and ripped his head off. "Karma's happening to me," he realized. Then he turned to Enzo, who realized they had a big problem on their hands.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on the CW. What did you think of episode 13 "Total Eclipse of the Heart"?
