Tonight was a huge finale of "The Vampire Diaries" and fans were shocked to see one of their favorite characters return to the show. Alaric Saltzman came from back from the other side and now spoilers are out about if he will stick around. On Thursday, The Hollywood Reporter shared that Alaric is here to stay. Matt Davis has been picked up for all of season six and will be returning.

Elena was grieving that Damon died and at this time Alaric found a way to come through and console her. He was very close to her considering that he even lived in her home as her guardian for a bit. He is back now and they are going to keep him around. Viewers are a bit confused on who is staying and going at this time, but this one is confirmed.

He was killed off during season three of the show. Now he will be back again a few seasons later. He has shown up from time to time as a ghost though. It will be interesting to see how things change with Alaric back.

Tonight had a shocking finale but the stars of the show aren't really saying anything. Nina Dobrev has been on Twitter, but she isn't speaking out about the show. Fans were hoping for some spoilers but it doesn't look like they are coming from the stars of the show.

Hit Fix wants to remind fans that on this show you never know who is really dead which is true. At this time, nobody wants to accept the idea that Damon might really be dead. There are no real spoilers out about if he will be back or not but the idea of the show actually killing of Ian Somerhalder's character just doesn't seem like something that would really happen.

"The Vampire Diaries" was picked up by the CW for a sixth season. It will return in the fall of 2014 and run through 2015. At this time, there is not an exact date of when the show will be back but fans are ready for it now.
