The season finale of "The Vampire Diaries" was shocking and emotional for fans. Soon after it aired, viewers were assured that Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) would be back. So what can be expected when season 6 airs? On July 30, TV Fanatic posted some spoilers regarding Elena and Stefan and even more details were unveiled at Comic-Con 2014.
The question on everyone's mind is what happened to Damon and Bonnie (Kat Graham), where did they go and will they return to Mystic Falls? Executive producer Julie Plec and the cast members couldn't reveal too much. However, the story is going to evolve. In previous interviews, Plec said that each season tries to top the previous one. This time around, "The Vampire Diaries" is going back to the way it was in the first two seasons. That means there is going to be a lot of mystery, suspense and "psychological horror."
As for Elena's grief, some fans wonder if she will run to Stefan (Paul Wesley) for comfort. While they will be friends, it doesn't sound like another romance is in the cards for them. Nina Dobrev explained that if her character did, then her love for Damon wouldn't have been real. Plec added that Damon and Elena's love is strong while the friendship between her and Stefan has grown.
With that being said, there was a spoiler report that stated Elena would deal with her grief differently than most. No details were given, but apparently her feelings of loss are going to cause her to do some very strange things. Even though acting strangely might be expected when grief is fresh, fans should remember that "The Vampire Diaries" season 6 premiere will begin four months later.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 premiere episode is titled "I'll Remember" and will air on the CW on Oct. 2. What do you think will happen when the show returns?
