As "TVD" season 5 ended, the Other Side fell apart, and as a result of that, Alaric and Enzo were brought back and Tyler returned but wasn't a hybrid – but Damon and Bonnie were lost, but lost to where is the big question for season 6. Bonnie's grandmother mentioned she had done something to help her, and the assumption is whatever she did explains what we saw in the last moments of the finale, but where are Damon and Bonnie?

Well, as this new trailer shows, no one may be coping all that well with their losses, but it's Elena who should have everyone worried. It loos like Jeremy and Stefan have both turned to drinking, but Elena has just become desperate. "I need you to give me hope," she says, but Stefan tells her, "Damon's gone. You need to say goodbye too." The only problem? That's not something she can do.

Instead, Elena's smelling his shirts, insisting she needs to see him and feeding from poor women on the side of the road. But it sounds like it's Caroline who's going to figure out just how far she has gone, as she says to someone on the phone, "Do you now Elena has some sort of witchy drug problem that allows her to hallucinate Damon?" Oh, Elena. "Move on," Damon tells her, but is this Damon just a hallucination? That all really depends on where Damon is.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 premieres Thursday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. on the CW. What do you think of this trailer?
