Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" were shocked by the end of the finale. The final moments of the episode showed Bonnie and Damon disappearing in a white flash of light when the other side blinked out of existence. That ending sent fans into an uproar over the potential death of Damon Salvatore, who is played by Ian Somerhalder. However, Julie Plec has revealed that fans will see both Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham again on the CW Series. On May 18, From Inside The Box shared the latest from the woman in charge of the series.
Julie Plec has immediately come out to speak about the fate of Damon and Bonnie on the series. The finale had fans even threatening to boycott the series via social media if Damon was truly dead, according to Hollywood Life. Plec revealed that Damon will be back, but she teased that she could not reveal how he would return. She said that "there's a million different ways" that can be used to bring Damon and Bonnie back for season six. She did confirm that the other side was indeed gone.
Fans that watched the finale did notice a loophole though. Bonnie had one final conversation with her grandmother, and she teased that she had made a sacrifice for Bonnie. This could be used to bring Damon and Bonnie back next season. Fans will definitely need to tune in to find out how Damon and Bonnie return. Ian Somerhalder did apologize to his fans on his Twitter about Damon's death after the finale aired.
Season six should be interesting. Matt Davis is back full time, and Michael Malarkey has been upgraded to a regular cast member for the new season. Tyler also revealed in the final moments of the season five finale that he was no longer a hybrid. Is he still a werewolf though? The loss of all supernatural powers might be the focus of season six. It was not revealed if Stefan and Elena were both still vampires after their return from the other side.
What do you think? What will happen during season six? How will Julie Plec pull off the return of Damon and Bonnie? Share your thoughts below?
