"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 finale is coming up quickly and fans are excited to find out what will happen. On May 3, She Knows Entertainment had an interview with actor Michael Malarkey, who plays Enzo on the vampire series. Malarkey talked about his character on the show.

So far on "TVD," Enzo is dead, but he is not resting peacefully. He first vowed revenge and attacked Elena in the bathtub at the cabin. Then Damon diffused the situation by promising Enzo that he would find a way to get him out of the Other Side. The question is, how is he going to make sure he keeps such a huge promise?

While the "how" isn't revealed, there is some hope that Enzo and Damon might reconcile in the future. Malarkey said that there is a possibility that the two will make up. Damon and Enzo have been friends for decades, but right now Enzo feels hurt and betrayed. The actor said that even though he thinks a reconciliation is possible, it's going to be difficult. He also said of Enzo being on the Other Side,

"Once Enzo realizes what's happening to the other side, he makes the decision, 'Okay, I think it's better to be back to the land of the living than here.' And he does everything in his power to try and escape whatever the h*** is going on with the other side because it's menacing, which you will see in the next three episodes. It's pretty, kind of, scary. He definitely turns to having a one-man mission to get back to the land of the living."

While the character of Enzo isn't exactly portrayed as a nice guy, there night be some hope that he could be redeemed. Malarkey said that he doesn't consider anyone to be truly bad and he thinks that his character is just misunderstood. However, fans will see some dodgy dealing from Enzo.

The subject of Enzo and Caroline was also brought up. So what can fans of "The Vampire Diaries" expect from the two characters? Malarkey said that there will be a "cute little moment" coming up. As for Caroline, she's trying to discover what she really wants, but right now she doesn't know. So what does Malarkey think of Enzo and Caroline together? He said,

"I quite like the fact that he's kind of a solo, renegade dude. But, however, a little fling with Caroline would be pretty good drama. They have a dynamic together. It's quite funny, a lot of witty comments and stuff, and I think that would play out quite nicely on screen."

What do you think of what Michael Malarkey had to say about "The Vampire Diaries" and his character? What do you think is going to happen with Enzo, Damon, Caroline and the other characters? Be sure to watch the season finale, which will air on the CW on May 15.
