A new episode of "The Vampire Diaries" is airing tonight on the CW. This episode will also be the season finale and viewers are curious what is going to happen next. On May 15, Ecumenical News posted some information on the final episode of the season. One of the things that was addressed was the possible fate of the Other Side.

As fans know, the Other Side is crumbling and if something isn't done, then Bonnie and everyone else that is technically dead will never been seen again. On the last episode, viewers were shocked when Stefan died and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is determined to bring his brother back. If the Other Side ends up falling away completely, that will mean that viewers will not see a lot of characters again.

Damon is not only determined, but he is angry. A sneak peek shows him taking a fire poker, smashing things. He is yelling at Bonnie as she tries to explain to him that it requires more than just knowing a spell. She then tells him that her plan was on target until her source got sucked away. Bonnie also tells Damon that the reason Markos (Raffi Barsoumian) was able to return was because he had a lot of Travelers that were willing to sacrifice themselves.

Some fans are wondering if the major deaths that will happen in "The Vampire Diaries" season 5 finale will be permanent or not. Actress Kat Graham, who plays Bonnie, told E! Online that it is what happens to them that matters. What is interesting is that executive producer Caroline Dries told Entertainment Weekly that she hopes to discard the Other Side. If this happens, then fans could be saying farewell to Bonnie and others.

Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan on "The Vampire Diaries" told TV Guide that the season finale will set new parameters for the next season. He also mentioned new circumstances and locations. With spoiler reports stating that Damon will blow up Mystic Falls, does that mean that the characters will have to go somewhere new? Or does it refer to the Other Side?

Even though "The Vampire Diaries" season 5 finale sounds sad, with three permanent deaths being teased and Mystic Falls being blown up, there may be some good things on the episode. Dries said that big things are going to happen in the finale episode, which will bring people back together and pick up the pieces.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 finale airs tonight on the CW. What do you think is going to happen with the Other Side? Is Stefan gone for good or will Damon and Bonnie be able to bring him back?
