Unfortunately, it's that time again. Next week is the "Vampire Diaries" season 5 finale, "Home," and on Thursday, May 8, the CW released a new sneak preview teasing how the season is going to end.
In the "explosive" "TVD" season 5 finale, Damon, heartbroken by an unexpected tragedy, is focused on holding himself together and pushing Bonnie harder than ever to figure out how to stop the Other Side from disintegrating. Elena takes matters into her own hands and demands that Liv and Luke help, but Liv won't cooperate – until Caroline provides some personal motivation.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Forbes is horrified when Markos uses violence against Tyler/Julian to prove the town is under the Travelers' control. With new information from the Sheriff, Damon comes up with a dangerous plan, one that relies on split-second timing from Jeremy and Matt.
Also, an off-hand remark from Liv about Stefan leads to a surprisingly emotional response from Caroline (is it just because he died at the end of the latest episode?), and as conditions on the Other Side worsen, Bonnie takes the opportunity to settle an old score. Finally, Damon's plan leads to a massive explosion in Mystic Falls. Everyone's caught up in the confusion, "leaving a trail of heroism, sacrifice, relief and despair."
The "Home" promo is all about Damon's dangerous plan, and it's simple: mass murder. Elena says they're not blowing up their town, but then Sheriff Forbes smells gas, and hey, look, explosion. Yes, they are blowing up Mystic Falls.
Plus, don't forget to check out the slideshow to see the promotional photos released from this episode. The photos show Sheriff Forbes with Markos watching as Tyler/Julian, chained, screams, at the border to the town, Elena and Damon having a moment, Elena and Caroline talking, Grams watching Bonnie and more.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 ends Thursday at 8 p.m. on the CW. What do you think of the episode 22 "Home" photos and promo?
