"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 continues next week with episode 5,"Monster's Ball," and on Friday, Oct. 25, a sneak peek was released teasing life after finding out your best friend has been dead for months.
The "Vampire Diaries" gang finally found out that Bonnie (Kat Graham) died months ago in the latest episode, "For Whom the Bell Tolls," leading to one of the saddest scenes yet on the show as everyone finally said goodbye—and Bonnie relayed her own messages for her friends through Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). While the promo for this next episode focuses on all the drama involving Silas—and possibly finding a way to bring Bonnie back—the "Monster's Ball" sneak peek is all about how Elena (Nina Dobrev) feels about losing her best friend.
In the clip to the left, Elena and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) have a bit of fun with their costumes—Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII—before she turns down his offer of a dance. She's feeling guilty that she didn't figure out something was going on sooner even though Jeremy had been lying to them, and while it may not be the same, she's now determined to make sure that Megan's death doesn't fall through the cracks. It doesn't look like anyone's going to have much fun at this party.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on the CW. What do you think of this episode 5 "Monster's Ball" clip?
