In this next episode, Stefan (Paul Wesley) tries to keep Elena (Nina Dobrev) from obsessing about her relationship with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), who told her he couldn't be friends with her in "Resident Evil," while Bonnie (Kat Graham) is trying to do her best to be realistic about what the changes on the Other Side mean for her as the Anchor. When Damon demands the Traveler knife, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Matt (Zach Roerig) have to admit it's missing.

Meanwhile, with flashbacks to 1960 and election night, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) reveals to Elena, Stefan and Bonnie he learned what happened to his long-lost love, Maggie (Heather Hemmens). With the unwilling help of Liv (Penelope Mitchell) and Luke (Chris Brochu), things take an ugly turn. Damon intervenes to try to calm Enzo down, but his words cause Enzo to make a desperate, dangerous decision that leads to a violent confrontation with Stefan.

Finally, Markos (Raffi Barsoumian) enlists Sloan's (Caitlin McHugh) help in a ritual to break an ancient curse against the Travelers, and this is a ritual Tyler (Michael Trevino) must play a dangerous part in. He also gets a look at the "incredible" power the Travelers now have.

By the end of the latest episode, Damon had gotten a brief history about Travelers, the prophecy and passengers from Markos as he put an end to Stefan and Elena's visions of an alternative life. Meanwhile, Matt spent some time on the Other Side after an encounter with a passenger and found his sister only to watch her be yanked away, and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) was the one telling him he had to go back and find a way to stop it. By the end of the episode, we saw that Tyler had a passenger in him, and he brought the knife to Markos.

The "Man on Fire" promo is all about what happened to Maggie and Enzo's reaction. It seems he blames Stefan for what happened, and it's going to be up to Damon to step in between his brother and his friend. He says that Stefan didn't kill Maggie; did he have something to do with what happened to her?

Plus, don't forget to check out the slideshow to see the promotional photos the CW has released from this episode. The images offer a loo at what's going on with Stefan, Elena, Damon and Enzo, as well as Bonnie and Liv – and it's nothing good for the witch.
