'The Vampire Diaries' season 5 episode 18 preview: Elena and Stefan's dreams

In this next "TVD" episode, both Stefan (Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) are suddenly having unsettling dreams of an alternate version of the life they might have had together. Bonnie (Kat Graham) has a disturbing encounter with Grams (Jasmine Guy), who warns her about frightening changes on the Other Side. Speaking of the Other Side, Matt (Zach Roerig) has a terrifying encounter with some of its inhabitants. Enzo (Michael Malarkey) offers Damon (Ian Somerhalder) unwanted relationship advice and admits he's looking for the woman he loved when he was being held by Augustine.

Meanwhile, Liv (Penelope Mitchell) enlists Matt (Zach Roerig), Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) to help track the Travelers and keep them from taking control of Mystic Falls, and Bonnie's hurt and angry when she finds out Jeremy's working with Liv behind her back. Elsewhere, Damon, Elena and Enzo get in on the Travelers action when Luke (Chris Brochu) shows up at the Salvatore house and tells them what he knows about them and Markos (Raffi Barsoumian). (Will that include just how he came to be? Because that was…something?) When Damon finds the Travelers' leader, he's relieved and disturbed by what Markos tells him.

The "Resident Evil" promo offers a look at those visions Elena and Stefan will be having – and they're definitely very strange. Biting is still part of their lives, but in a different way. Awk-ward. And if talking about Elena having sex dreams about his brother is skipping "the uncomfortable parts," according to Damon, what else are they talking about in that scene?

"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on the CW. "Resident Evil" airs April 17. What do you think of this episode 18 promo?
