'The Vampire Diaries': Paul Wesley taking on FBI role for new project

Paul Wesley is looking to show that he can do more than play a vampire on the small screen -- he just signed on to play a very different sort of role in a new motion picture. According to a new report, the "Vampire Diaries" is set to play the role of an FBI agent in new project "The Baytown Disco" -- which also features another TV star in "Desperate Housewives" actress Eva Longoria.

The plot of the movie revolves around three brothers who try to help a woman save her son from his abusive father -- as for how Wesley's character is going to be involved, he will be present to investigate what exactly goes down.

The project will likely debut in 2012, and it is not the only film coming up with a "TVD" connection -- Nina Dobrev recently signed on to appear in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" alongside Emma Watson. She is currrently shooting the role in Pittsburgh as her hit show is one hiatus until later in the summer.
