December 16, 2010 - 'The Vampire Diaries' cast sits down for insightful behind-the-scenes tidbits -
In a fun and entertaining sit down video, the cast of The Vampire Diaries talks about interesting tidbits that go on behind-the-scenes on the set of the hit CW show.
Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan Salvatore, talked about how they take things seriously when it's time to shoot, especially when it comes to the intense scenes, but, he also said they find time for fun on set as well.

"We're always playing pranks on each other," he said, "constantly... it's incessant!" He also said that there is a great gag reel for season one and hopes they will put one together for season two as well.
Sara Canning, whose role is Jenna Sommers, laughed about how sometimes the fake blood can get out of control and make a huge mess. If you don't fall right it can all "gush out all of a sudden."

She explained how the scene where she stabs herself in the stomach was so over the top with how much blood came out of the "bag in her dress" and it was hilarious.
"When Jeremy almost kisses me in the episode that just aired... that wasn't on the script," Katerina Graham, who plays Bonnie, revealed. "That was a funny moment for me, a little bashful moment... but it was good."
That scene was left in the episode, and Katerina added that, "You just kind of go with it, you don't worry about all that other stuff."

Ian Somerhalder, who portrays Damon Salvatore, said that every moment filming with Matt Davis (Alaric) or David Anders, who is Uncle John, is "a blast."
"David Anders and I were just shooting stuff yesterday," he added, "Uncle John Gilbert... I'm so glad he's back. We have a blast. Always."

The cast also make up "crazy little songs that only we laugh at," Ian said, and added that they all have great energy and it's "awesome."
