The season finale of "The Vampire Diaries" is coming up quickly which means that there are a lot of spoilers circulating the Internet. On April 24, Alloy Entertainment posted the synopsis for the final episode, "Home." It sounds like it is going to be intense and explosive.

There are still a few episodes that need to air before the season finale, but the synopsis reveals some clues on what to expect. For one, it says that Damon is going to be heartbroken over an unexpected tragedy and will try to hold himself together. On the last episode, Enzo died and spoilers for the upcoming "What Lies Beneath" reveal that Stefan and Elena are going to keep that death a secret from the Salvatore brother, but Damon suspects they are hiding something. Could the unexpected tragedy Damon will deal with have to do with Enzo's death?

Also, Bonnie will continue to try to find a way to stop the Other Side from falling apart. However, time may be running out because the conditions over there are getting worse. She will decide to take an opportunity to settle an old score.

In "The Vampire Diaries" season 5, episode 22, Elena is going to take control by demanding that Liv and Luke help her. However, Liv will not do it until Caroline gives her some "personal motivation." Speaking of Caroline, she has feelings for someone, but those feelings will cause tension between her and a friend. When season 6 airs, she will make a move, TV Line reported.

As for the Travelers, things don't look good for Mystic Falls. The sheriff is going to be horrified when Markos gets violent with Tyler. He wants to prove that the town is under the control of the Travelers. The sheriff will give some information to Damon, which helps him create a plan. However, this plan is dangerous and depends on split-second timing from Jeremy and Matt.

The synopsis also reveals that Damon's plan causes a massive explosion. Everyone is going to get caught up in the confusion and while there will be despair, there will also be heroism, sacrifice and relief. One of the promotional photos for "Home" shows Damon sitting on the hood of his car, staring towards Mystic Falls. Is he staring at the remains of the town after the explosion? Will the town be completely destroyed? Paul Wesley told TV Guide,

"[The finale] definitely establishes new parameters in the environment we'll be shooting in Season 6. They reset things in a way, and the writers have the ability to now change the circumstances and locations of where the show takes place."

Could the new circumstances and locations be a result of the town being blown up? Will Bonnie be able to stop the Other Side from disintegrating? Will the Travelers be dealt with once and for all? Fans will have to wait for "The Vampire Diaries" season 5 finale to air to find out. The CW will be showing that episode on May 15.
