The Utica Public Library’s Imagination Unlimited Youth Art Contest celebrated this year’s winners at a reception on the evening of May 27. Over 70 people attended, including parents and family of the winners, teachers, members of the local arts community, and of course, the winners themselves. Winners received trophies and everyone in attendance enjoyed an evening of refreshments, socializing, meeting and celebrating the community’s young artists.

The artwork this year was rich in talent, creativity and imagination. Artwork was on display for the entire month of May, during which time a panel of judges from the local arts community voted on winners. In addition, Library patrons even had the opportunity to vote for a People’s Choice Award Winner. Winners were chosen in five age categories, along with two Honorable Mention Awards, the People’s Choice Award, the Overall Excellence Award for artistic talent, and the Imagination Unlimited Award for the piece deemed to show the most creativity and imagination.
