Looking for another opportunity to get your music out there and maybe actually get played? Here's a new one: Hamilton Radio in Hamilton, NJ. Founded in 1997, this internet radio station is bucking for XM and Sirius airplay in the near future.
This station's motto is "leave no talented person behind." And they mean it. Playing lots of variety and lots of rare or forgotten songs from the classic rock era to the present, and supporting unsigned artists as they go along.
Local musician, Sean Page, of the bands Fragile X, Imaginos and Navigator had this to say about the station: "There's some cool music on here. It's the kind of stuff you could listen to with your parents. And Gino (the DJ) is a really great guy for supporting all of it." Sean is currently in the top five rotation here with his album A Drop in Time.
The Unsigned Heroes section of this site gives the fledgling indie artist a chance to shine on a national and international level. It's currently the number one internet radio station in NJ and it looks like a good model for other internet stations to follow.
Locally, Colorado has longtime internet radio veteran, Carmen Allgood, with the Colorado Wave (and more recently her World Wide Wave). Here, local bands can sign up for a band directory (currently $75 one-time charge) and submit up to 15 songs for airplay.
