The Natural History Museum of Utah will be hosting the Ultimate Chocolate Festival this weekend, March 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Chocolate candies, chocolate covered bacon, chocolate beet cake and chocolate ravioli are just several examples of tasty treats that will be available at the Ultimate Chocolate Festival.

Featuring more than 20 local chocolate-makers, restaurants and purveyors, the festival will showcase chocolate in a variety of forms from desserts to demos. The festival coincides with the museum’s popular feature exhibit Chocolate: The Exhibition.

  • A special Mayan Coffee Café with an assortment of drinks and a lounge area for family and friends in the Sky Gallery on the fifth floor.
  • Various sampling and demos as well as specialty items will be for sale in the museum store and from participating vendors.
  • Different hands-on activities good for all ages – cacao bean grinding, chocolate tastings, and a community art project capturing favorite chocolate memories.
  • Music and Mayan-inspired and modern dance performances will take place throughout the weekend.
  • Educational “Chocolate Blasts” (mini lectures) from local experts also are scheduled for both days.

All ages are welcome to attend. The Ultimate Chocolate Festival is included in the cost of regular museum admission. Adults $11, Seniors and youth (13-24) $9 and children (3-12) $8.
