Photographs offer a unique way to capture historic moments. Now, I’m far from a photographer – heck, I’m barely capable of editing my own articles – but the art has never been lost on me; especially in today’s fast food culture.
Sometimes it's good to sit back and chill.
Being able to write about MMA has been one of my life’s great pleasures. Sometimes while I’m covering this sport, I get the chance to take snapshots of some of the world’s greatest athletes. As previously mentioned, I’m hardly a photographer, but when the time allows I enjoy capturing these fighters during a fight week, at a press conference or at a workout session.
I wasn’t able to attend all events that the UFC puts on, but I covered my fair share of big events. In this 2012 gallery, many of your favorite fighters are here: Anderson Silva, Junior dos Santos, Cain Velasquez, Tito Ortiz, and Roy Nelson just to name a few.
Words can’t truly express the honor a journalist feels when doing right by these great athletes. Preserving the history of MMA and telling the legends of giants is truly what I, personally, got into writing for. So, although taking pictures may be a hobby, I still have tried to approach it with the same respect I give writing, although at times it may be imperfect.

This will be a two-part series, with the part one covering the New Year's show UFC 141 at the end of 2011, up until Carlos Condit vs. Nick Diaz at UFC 143 in October 2012.
Part two will feature the rest of 2012, culminating with photos from Cain Velasquez/Junior dos Santos 2 at UFC 155 at the end of December.
Enjoy!
