"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" broke box office records, raking in $26.3 million in its

It's official. "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" has set a new record for earnings for a midnight opening. According to Summit Entertainment, the movie raked in $26.3 million at midnight screenings last night.
That easily tops the $22.2 million earned by "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" this summer and the $18.5 million earned by "The Dark Knight."
Variety reports that the re-issue of "Twilight" on screens Thursday also earned another $1.3 million.
The reviews for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" are also pouring in, though as expected, most critics have not loved the film. Still, the intended audience (fans of the series) are loving it. The Scorecard Review has glowing words for the movie, giving it an 8/10. And fan sites like Novel Novice Twilight are also thrilled with "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," calling it a vast improvement on last year's "Twilight."
As was the case across the country, local fans in the Portland area turned out in droves for midnight screenings of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" Thursday night.

The film was better than I expected it to be. The acting is much better, loved the werewolves, loved the scenery...I absolutely loved it and I will be seeing it more than once....can't wait for the DVD to come out. If Breaking Dawn is made, I think Chris Weitz should consider directing it...
New Moon was much much better than Twilight. The first movie was good, but it had a ton of space for improvement, it was kinda cheesy, and it had a lot of unnecessary scenes. New Moon, however, followed the book as perfectly as was possible, the soundtrack was magnificent, the movie was well paced, the fans loved it, and Chris Weitz was a movie magician! I honestly did not expect this movie to be as awesome as it was. I've been anticipating the movie since the release date was announced and I was excited for Twilight when it was announced. I've loved the books and New Moon was genius. I'm going to see it again tomorrow night and it was well worth staying up late on a school night to see the midnight premiere and the twilight showing before it. Go see this. It's crazy good.
Was alot better than twilight!! i thought Kristen Stewart was a horrible actress in twilight but she seems to have greatly improved.... I definately say check it out however the books are still wayyyyy better than the movies
I liked it. It made me want more. I want to read the books now. Was it better than twilight? NO. Two reasons: 1. Kristen is not in love with Jacob 2. The director is a man. True love was obvious in twilight because of a woman's direction. New moon was clearly directed by a man.
I have read the twilight saga numerous times. I have to say that I feel twilight was more emotional intense than New Moon, which was a bit disappointing. I know Kristen tried her best, but any female in real life that is as much in love as Bella and Edward are, the girl would have been histerical. New Moon is one of my favorite books in the series because of the emotional and mental breakdowns that Bella had over losing Edward and I just feel that they could have done a little better in showing that deep emotional scrring. Also, alot of things were different throughout the movie as not in the books especially in Italy... I also feel that they should have inserted somewhere in New Moon of Bella's Lullaby, maybe when she was drowining, or insert the song when James bit her in twilight into that seen to tie the two movies toether would have been awesome. Good job all around and I cannot wait for the next one.
