Last week on Days, Chloe tried not to fall apart as she anxiously awaited a call from Carly with the paternity test results. In the middle of her birthday celebration, Phillip announced that he and Melanie had to leave. After they left, Chloe fell asleep and Daniel could be seen staring cryptically at his phone. After receiving a strange text, he told Chloe he’d do anything for her. Later, at the pier, he hit a button on his phone and said, “Done.” Meanwhile, Phillip made a call and asked for a favor, thanking whoever was on the other line.

Stephanie stared in horror at her computer screen, realizing that Phillip was the father of Chloe’s baby. Ian was confused, asking why she cared. Stephanie explained that when the truth came out, Melanie would leave Phillip and she’d come running to Nathan for support. At St. Mary’s Hospital, Carly was about to look at Chloe’s DNA results when Sister Ann realized she couldn’t show them to her because Chloe hadn’t signed the HIPAA form. Carly insisted that “Dana” had signed the form and asked Sister Ann to check again. Sister Ann found the form and handed the results to Carly.

Stephanie begged Ian to change the results of the paternity test for her. At first, he refused; explaining the danger altering the results would put him in. After seeing how upset Stephanie was, he had a change of heart. They logged back in to the St. Mary’s database and were shocked to see that the results had already been changed. Meanwhile, Carly went to Chloe and Daniel’s apartment and told Chloe that Daniel was the father of her baby. Thrilled, Chloe hugged Carly and thanked her for everything. In the hallway, before entering his apartment, Daniel assured himself that he’d done the right thing and that Chloe’s happiness was what mattered. Daniel explained that he’d gotten opera tickets so he and Chloe could have one last magical night as a childless couple. Chloe texted Phillip and asked him and Melanie to come over, where she apologized for acting so crazy during her first trimester and happily toasted with sparkling cider.

At the Brady Pub, Vivian showed Victor plans for the sarcophagus she wanted to purchase for his late daughter, Isabella. Maggie showed up and Victor invited her to join them. Vivian showed off the sarcophagus to an obviously disturbed Maggie. Later, Vivian went to Maggie’s house and asked her if she still had the information from the people who handled Mickey’s funeral. Maggie asked Vivian if she’d go away if she gave her the information. Vivian assured her she would. When Maggie went upstairs, Vivian spotted papers on her table and was overjoyed to learn that Maggie planned to go out of town. Vivian met Gus at the mausoleum where she remarked that burial had come along way in the last decade and that burying Maggie alive would be “easier than the first time” she’d done it to Carly.

Rafe hauled Nicole in to the FBI station after she tried to run off. As he was going over his information, Gabi called and asked if he knew that Sami was marrying EJ that day. Rafe hung up and ran out of the office. At the DiMera mansion, EJ and Sami started their ceremony only to have Roman burst in. Roman said he was there to arrest Sami to keep her from making the biggest mistake of her life. Sami talked to Roman, assuring him that EJ had changed and begging him to let her be happy. Roman begrudgingly agreed not to stand in her way and decided to stay for the ceremony. Just as the judge was about to pronounce them husband and wife, Rafe burst in and asked to speak to Sami alone. Furious, Sami asked everyone to leave except EJ because, while she would hear Rafe out, she wouldn’t do it without EJ by her side. Stefano, Kate, Will, Roman and Lexi left with Allie, Johnny and Sydney.

After a sickeningly long period of time even by soap opera standards, Rafe told Sami that EJ was the one who paid Anna to kidnap Sydney. Rafe played Nicole’s recorded confession for Sami, who rolled her eyes and said she’d never accept anything Nicole said as the truth. Sami slapped Rafe and told him to leave. Rafe said that if she wanted to hate him that was fine, but he had more proof. Rafe started to play the CD of EJ admitting to his crime. EJ begged Sami not to listen to it, saying that Rafe had obviously doctored something. Sami told Rafe to play the CD and heard EJ’s confession to Stefano for herself. EJ claimed it wasn’t him, but Sami didn’t buy it. She calmly asked Rafe to leave.

EJ finally admitted to Sami that he had been behind Sydney’s kidnapping but reminded her that she was no saint herself. He said he’d gone crazy after she’d told him about their daughter only after thinking she was dead. When it got to the end, he said, he couldn’t hurt Sami which was why he brought Sydney home. EJ swore he loved Sami and asked her to forgive him… and to marry him. Sami said that the only reason she’d moved up the wedding was because she’d gone to Rafe’s the night before to give him one more chance to talk her out of marrying EJ and had seen Nicole and Rafe kissing. Sami said that anything she felt for EJ was dead and that he’d never see his children again. Kate and Stefano arrived home and Stefano realized what had happened, saying Sami would take the kids over his dead body. Rafe came back to the mansion and protected Sami as she took the kids to the pub. When the kids went off with Caroline, Sami threw her arms around Rafe and thanked him for saving her again.

Nicole ran from the FBI station and went straight to Brady, where she told him the truth about what she’d done to EJ and begged him for help. Brady was cold and indifferent, saying he was done with her. Brady left the room and Nicole started to cry, much to Victor’s delight. After a run-in with Kate and Stefano at the Brady Pub, Nicole rushed back to her motel room to pack her belongings and flee. She saw the door to her room turn and hid with a pair of scissors, convinced that EJ had sent someone to kill her. The man turned out to be an FBI agent assigned to protect her. Nicole decided to use her $5 million from EJ to flee the country but was devastated to learn her accounts had been frozen.

After leaving Sami’s non wedding, Roman went to the courthouse where Dr. Baker was about to be tried for his role in the muggings. Bo said that Hope was in an altered state when she’d committed the crimes, but Dr. Baker wasn’t and that he would pay. Dr. Baker turned around and reminded Bo that he wasn’t innocent, either. He said Bo had had everything but had thrown it all away. The judge started the proceedings. Dr. Baker’s attorney argued that Hope had already been found guilty of the crimes and his client should be dismissed. The judge denied his claim and Bo was called to the stand. After verbally attacking Dr. Baker, Bo was threatened with contempt of court and was asked to sit down. Carly reassured him.

Hope was called to the stand. Bo protested, saying she’d been through enough. Hope admitted that she couldn’t remember Dr. Baker committing any of the crimes. When Dr. Baker’s lawyer attacked Hope and called her certifiably crazy, Dr. Baker stood up and fired his lawyer. He said he pled guilty and asked the judge to let Hope go. Dr. Baker was taken into custody. Hope awaited transportation back to prison, telling Bo that she was fine. Later that night, Bo called into bed with Carly and admitted he was still worried about Hope. Bo had a dream that Hope was in bed with him, begging him to save her. He woke up and looked at Carly lying next to him.
