On Saturday, July 26 “The Trade” will have its world premiere with a special event in Orlando. The red carpet event will be televised on the “Indie Cinema Showcase” and include a meet and greet with the actors, producer and director as well as a Q&A session.
“The Trade” is set in Miami but was filmed entirely in Orlando. The action/drama was directed by Emmy Award winning filmmaker Gerald J. Godbout III and stars Dennis Jusino, Brittney Santos, Jimmy Dempster, Fran Rafferty, Allan Marrero, Justin Larsche and Michael Opal.
Judging by the preview and the behind the scenes videos, the short film is rated R and features some really intense scenes and fight sequences. One question for actor/producer Dennis Jusino was whether it was hard winding down after shooting those kinds of scenes. “To be honest, it was easy,” he said. “I personally gave so much of me to this project that when the director and I wrapped the day, I pretty much went home, showered and quickly fell asleep. For the most part I think that statement holds true to everyone; we all were pretty beat up. Looking back, I’m glad we gave it our all because now we can sit back and enjoy the fireworks.”
“The Trade” is the first film with filmmaker/director Gerald J. Godbout III and producer/actor Dennis Jusino collaborating together. “Often times movies start one way and end another way; sometimes good, great or sometimes bad; very bad,” said Jusino. “In our case, I think ‘The Trade’ kept growing only getting better and better. It’s a well balanced movie where everyone brought something to the table, a true testament to team work and effort.
“Another thing I am very proud of in ‘The Trade’ is that everything in the project is either custom made or from an indie artist. We have a custom score by Chris Lott and soundtrack pieces from two local Indie bands with a great sound, Ideal ZerO and Calefactor. ‘The Trade’ is an original in many forms, from the bottom line to the top. I am proud to say this project was built by and for the people who believe.”
The premiere will be held Saturday, July 26 at Premiere Cinema 16 at The Fashion Square Mall, 3201 E. Colonial Dr. in Orlando at 1 p.m. Limited seating tickets are available in advance from Eventbrite. Tickets will not be available at the event.
