On Monday, the WWE officially announced that they will be inducting the legendary wrestling stable the 4 Horsemen into their HOF on Saturday March 31st. Throughout the years, there were several variations of the popular faction. However, the WWE chose to induct the variation that contained Barry Windham, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Ric Flair and JJ Dillion. According to a Wednesday January 11th report by BustedOpenRadio.com, former 4 Horsemen member Lex Luger commented on being left out of the HOF induction and his friend Barry Windham:
“I think Barry Windham would be a splendid choice for getting inducted. What a great honor for him. I think it would be a great time in Barry's life right now from what I hear, for him to receive that. I'm going to be down in South Beach for Wrestlemania. I wouldn't miss it. I will be in the audience cheering on the guys who gets selected as the Four Horsemen. I'm just thrilled that I was a part of it at all. I think Barry is a great pick."
Luger joined the 4 Horsemen in 1987 after being an associate to Ric Flair. He got his position with the faction after they kicked out Ole Anders, making Luger the first replacement in a long line of wrestlers to join the group. Within a year, Luger was swerved by his friend Barry Windham during a tag-team match against Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard. Barry would replace Luger with the Horsemen and Lex would go on to be one of the top faces.
Luger would go on to talk about how Ole was part of the original group. Luger was very careful in which words he chose when describing WWE’s selection process; A process that’s come under heavy scrutiny over the years by fans and pundits.
