The Top Five New York City Renting Resources You Probably Don't Know About

This article was originally written from the Huffington Post but I am going to amend the list just a bit, ok a lot.

#1:How To Rent In NYC.com: Ok, so I am biased because I am the creator of the site but aside from the fact it is the mom-and-pop shop of NYC rental websites it is also the only website that allows you to read and write reviews on your landlords. If you are the type of person to constantly be on menupages.com or rottentomatoes.com then this site is for you. You can also find all the landlords contact information, website, phone etc... and contact them for FREE.

#2: Insurent (www.insurent.com). Some New Yorkers make lots of money and have the privilege of choosing between apartments. Other folks have wealthy parents who act as a guarantor to lock in the digs of their dreams. For the rest of us, there's Insurent. If you're responsible and haven't destroyed your credit, Insurent will act as your guarantor. So, although you might not make enough annually to qualify for an apartment, they'll guarantee you as long as you can cover the monthly rent. Earn like a common man; live like a king. (directly from Huffington post- the only resource I agree with on that list)

#3: Sunshine Suites: We said "renting resources" and this is the best office rental space in town. They have fabulous locations all over the city fully equipped with internet, fax, printing, trendy jazz music, trendy bathrooms, fish pond in the foyer and pricing that can fit every entrepreneur, writer, actor, real estate broker, any other gig that requires an affordable office space on a month-to-month lease.  That was a mouthful. I have worked here off and on for three years. God bless Sunshine Suites.

#4: Moishes Moving: I may be Jewish but this is not why I recommend them. They are on top of their stuff like the big companies and give the small moving company feel with competitive pricing.

#5: JumpPost.com: Ok, you know it must be good if I am advocating for my direct competition.  It is a new website started by Jordan Cooper of famous venture capital fame where the early bird gets the apartment and the old tenant gets $500 bucks. If you think you are going to leave your apartment post it on here with your move out date and show it to prospective renters through this site and you get paid $500.00. Seems like a no-brainer.
