My forecasts have not always been accurate, and for that, I apologize. Last week, however, when the judges voted 2-1 to send through Arcadian Broad instead of Thia Megia, I made a very bold prediction. I predicted that for every 5th-6th choice the judges are given this season, David Hasselhoff and Sharon Osbourne would always vote against Piers Morgan in favor of sending the clearly lesser of two talents through into the next round.
So far, they have delivered on my expectations.
Last week, America learned a hard lesson to never assume that a top contender is safe. This week, they learned not to vote for untalented acts based on their personal preferences. The two performers made to stand before the judges for the second elimination last night were Charles DeWayne Dorsey, who the judges had all agreed was a rising star the night before, and Tony Hoard & Rory, the frisbee dog act who could only catch a frisbee half the time.
Nick Cannon gave the floor to Osbourne first, and she evidently knew how she should have voted but did not want to, because she asked the Hoff to vote instead. Hoff voted for Rory, and Morgan was quick to chime in and state that if Dorsey was eliminated tonight in favor of Rory, it would become the greatest travesty in AGT’s history.
That didn’t stop Osbourne from voting for Rory. The so-called rising star was cut down, and the act that is not really an act at all was put through into the Top 20.
One more event onto a future list of greatest insults, and one more reason why Osbourne and Hasselhoff should not be returning to judge another season (if even for another episode at all).
Who America passed and rejected automatically was not at all surprising. The Fab Five, The Voices of Glory and Paradizo Dance advanced automatically as forecasted. The Beale Street Flippers, Carol Loo, Eleisha Miller, Pete Peterkin and Alizma were all rejected as forecasted as well.
The fourth automatic pass went to the Texas Tenors, as it turned out the Voices of Glory had left room for a second spoiler act to advance along with them. The act they had been forecasted to appear before the judges with, SQ Entertainment, was the final elimination for the night, possibly sufficing as further proof that the open call had given America its fill of dance crews.
But the ultimate shocker was for Tony Hoard & Rory to qualify for the judges’ vote. With the possible exception of Rory biting a dancer or taking a dump right there on the stage, everything that could have gone wrong for Tony Hoard had gone wrong the night before.
But Hasselhoff and Osbourne are thoroughly incompetent, so of course there was hope for Hoard.
Hasselhoff’s argument was that he didn’t believe Dorsey could compare to the singers already passed through into the competition (yeah, all three of them), so just like in Vegas, he voted against the act that he felt didn’t have much a chance in favor of an act that doesn't have a prayer at all.
The look in Osbourne’s eyes and the fact that she didn’t want to make the first vote (by the way, Nick Cannon had revealed who the final two were before the last commercial break, so Osbourne had plenty of time to make up here mind between the two) should be telling enough: She knew the better choice was Dorsey, but she wanted to vote for the sweet little dog.
That sweet little dog is now going to become a symbol of everything wrong with this show. Way to go Osbourne, you’ve done a truly Hofftastic job this season.
NBC’s very own message boards speak well enough for themselves. Within an hour of the show’s completion, their “Negative Opinions” thread had become bloated with page after page of newly-registered users complaining about the elimination of Dorsey in favor of Hoard.
One user in particular, Cragg, wrote: "Perhaps they need only easy choices for the next elimination."
Could the choice between Dorsey and Hoard have been any easier?
Forget about replacing the judges before the next season. Hasselhoff and Osbourne's contracts need to go through the shredder right now.

By the way, the wildcards are posted at the nbc homepage now.
At least Jay Mattioli is on there, but that´s about it.
