When an act can stand among all the rest even when featured solely in a montage, that is when you know you have something special.
The African High Flyers are all America’s Got Talent could ask for in a tumbling act. There were many this season, but the AHF may have been the most talented, the most diverse, and the most well-rounded ever.
The only problem is that America has not actually been formally introduced to the AHF, which means that their first performance will be absolutely key.
The potential pitfalls that a tumbling act may fall victim to are many. Along with the many obvious ways in which the performers could injure themselves, the Flyers may also want to consider how their performance translates into a movie experience. Tumblers often give into the temptation to use the entirety of the stage to their advantage, but the eyes of the audience and the NBC cameras can only be focused on one performer at a time. If their performance appears scattered or disjointed, that too will take away from their act.
Above all else, the Flyers are a wild card act because the expectations for them are zero. This is the kind of act that is worth tuning in for since they are not guaranteed to pass or fail. Their first performance will absolutely set the tone for the future of this season.
