Amusement Today is one of the leading sources of news and happenings from around the amusement park industry. A leading trade publication, the magazine and its website are one of the primary sources of information for those working in the theme park industry. For the past 14 years, the magazine has been giving out awards for the best of the best in the amusement industry. The Golden Ticket Awards are given in a variety of categories and are calculated via an international poll of industry professionals.
On September 16th and 17th, industry professionals gathered at Holiday World/Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana to participate in this annual red carpet event. Awards were given out for the top steel and wooden coasters, the best overall amusement parks, best shows, and a whole lot more.
A popular category of Golden Ticket Awards is in the field of traditional wooden coasters, or “woodies.” Each year, amusement parks vie for the prestige of having their coasters named to the list of the top twenty five. For the 5th year in a row, Holiday World’s “Voyage” was named the best of all woodies. Here’s a look all of at this year’s winners:
