The ten plagues of the judgment of God against Egypt, part 1.

“During our normal course of work on the side-by-side, verse-by-verse, comparison study of the King James Version of the Bible and the fifteen other English translations/versions of the Bible,” reported the Reverend J.A. Layman, evangelist with Sterling Ministries, before The Lay School faculty here in Clinton, Tennessee, “a thought occurred to us concerning the ten plagues God brought against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and his people, under the leadership of Moses and Aaron, when God had instructed them to approach Pharaoh and demand they be allowed to go sacrifice to God in the wilderness. That thought specifically was concerning the ‘ten plagues’ or miracles, and was, very simply, that there were MORE THAN ten plagues. And why; how do we conclude such when every child that has ever attended Sunday School KNOWS that there were ONLY ten plagues! And the answer is SO simple: for each plague/sign there was also the removal of that plague/sign, which ALSO constituted a miracle! Consider the evidence:

Plague/sign 0: (Exodus 7:8-13) Moses’ rod becomes a serpent before Pharaoh and his servants (Exodus 7:10) BUT, Aaron’s (Moses’) rod ‘swallowed up their (the Egyptian sorcerers’ and magicians’) rods’ (Exodus 7:12), AND when Aaron or Moses picked up Moses’ rod again, which had become a serpent, it became a rod once more (yet another MIRACLE). SO the first plague/sign, in its entirety, actually contained three miracles. (Let us also not forget the miracle, although we don’t refer to it as such since it was done by the Egyptian sorcerers and magicians, of turning the rods of the sorcerers and magicians into serpents too. Exodus 7:11)
