'The Taste:' An awesome season and a fantastic finale

It was an exhilarating first season and an exciting and surprising finale on Tuesday night. There were three chefs left Gregg from Team Ludo, Diane from Team Anthony, Kristianne from Team Malarkey and one home cook Sarah from Team Ludo, remained in the competition.

The Team Taste Test tonight took a different turn, first it was based on Tapas the Spanish tradition of one fascinating taste, this was judge by renowned chef Jose Andres and all four chefs would participate and the least successful of them would be eliminated. And to the surprise of all Gregg, a top contender who had won so many team challenges was sent home.

Then it was time for the Solo Taste Test, and all remaining chefs would have to produce three spoons each paired with a wine. There were three very different styles of cooking, Sarah, very calm and collective even with time to hum a tune, Kristianne on the other hand appearing as though about to have an anxiety attach, however, very complex in her execution, and Diane just appearing very focus on the task at hand not letting anything get in her way.

The cook who came in third place was Sarah, a home cook who had risen to a level of sophistication and finesse that even some trained chefs in the competition were unable to accomplish. And there were Kristianne and Diane left, and complexity ruled and intensity prevailed when Kristianne was announced as the first winner of "The Taste."
