If you are an ale enthusiast and you are looking for an excuse for a weekend jaunt, then head for Dayton, Ohio and attend the 15th annual AleFest on Saturday, August 24. Dayton is approximately a 3.5 hour drive from Cleveland.
AleFest Taking place at Carillon Historical Park from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m., the AleFest will feature 375 craft beers and ales from more than 160 world class breweries for sampling. Among the breweries represented are Cleveland's own Great Lakes Brewing Company and Akron's Hoppin' Frog and Thirsty Dog. The Fest will also feature expanded draught and cask ales and lagers.
Entertainment will be provided by Phat Like Dad and the Fest will also feature a raffle for beer collectibles and a silent auction with beer memorabilia. In addition, guests will be able to purchase wearables and beer glassware.
There will also be plenty of food concessions including cuisine from Chappys Tap Room & Grille, the Dorothy Lane Market, 5th Street Wine & Deli and Brock Masterson's Catering.
It is highly recommended that you purchase your tickets in advance by calling 937-623-2337 or getting online at www.alefest.com. Advance tickets are $35. Admission on the day of the event is $40. Admission includes 20 samples of craft beer, a commemorative tasting glass, a sampling guide and a raffle entry. Admission for designated drivers/non-drinkers is $15 and includes a bottle of water and an AleFest sampling glass.
