Welcome to another edition of The Sunday Funnies, a weekly feature devoted to the lighter side of life. This week’s edition features a uniquely creative Halloween prank that is the newest Internet sensation. The Mr. Pumpkin video from Poland was posted on YouTube on Thursday and on Nov. 2, the viral video surpassed the 2.5 million mark, which is quite an accomplishment in such a short time. To check it out, be sure to watch the video to the left.
The premise is simplistic, yet oh so clever. A Halloween display of jack-o-lanterns with an “RIP Mr. Pumpkin” sign lures unsuspecting people to the haunted display. When they get close, the head of one pumpkin comes to life and scares the wits out of his visitors. The funniest part, for those who care to stick around, is that Mr. Pumpkin breaks into some pretty snappy dance moves to well known songs like “Maniac” by Pat Benatar, “YMCA” by the Village People, and even Miley Cyrus’s newest hit “Wrecking Ball.” After initial shrieks of fright, bouts of laughter follow, making Mr. Pumpkin one of the best Halloween prank videos ever.
The “Daily Mail” posted, “Some victims bolt, but the braver ones who stick around are treated to a hysterical display as pop music is cued up and Mr. Pumpkin goes from Halloween ghoul to dancing fool.” MSN wrote, “This hilarious Halloween prank has a hilarious ending, every single time.”
People love the latest viral video and posted on YouTube on Nov. 2…
- “Well done. That was funny. Love the choice of music and dancing.”
- “LOL. This was great.”
- “LOL on wrecking ball. I cracked up.”
- “Great film.”
- “You’re a legend.”
- “I wanna say good job man.”
Best wishes for a relaxing, peaceful and lighthearted Sunday.
