The summer never ends in Los Angeles

Just because it’s Labor Day weekend doesn’t necessarily mean the summer is truly over. For Los Angeles it will be business as usual of lounging poolside by day and rooftop parties by night for another few months before the cold weather actually kicks in. But for all of you new Hollywood transplants who may feel conflicted about leaving a whole season behind in addition to your elderly grandparents, younger siblings and childhood friends, Hornitos has the perfect remedy.

The September Spice cocktail, a citrusy and spicy mix, is the perfect combination of summer and fall. It has just enough refreshing fruity tang for the warm nights and enough spice to acknowledge the turn of the season.

The September Spice

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 parts lime juice
  • 3 parts Hornitos Plata Tequila
  • 1 part agave nectar
  • 5 sprigs of cilantro
  • 3 pineapple chunks
  • 2 thin habanero pepper slices

Directions:

Muddle all ingredients together, add ice, shake well and strain into an old fashioned glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a Habanero slice.

Hornitos Plata Tequila can be found at any of your local Los Angeles liquor stores. Please drink responsibly. Don't drink and drive.
