You can tell it's summertime in Florida when the tourists start to retreat North, and the thunderstorms return for their afternoon visits. Another good sign is when area theme parks start to promote their summer specials, and Florida residents start to salivate at the thought of visiting their favorite attractions for less. With Memorial Day as the unofficial start of summer, some area parks have already started to hint at their next big promotion.
This May, LEGOLAND ® Florida is proud to once again honor police officers, fire fighters and EMS employees with a free single day admission to the park. This special offer gives first responders a chance to experience the park’s more than 50 rides, shows and attractions with their friends and family.
The program is valid for all police officers, fire fighters, and EMS employees working and serving in the United States. Active and retired personnel with identification are eligible. Eligible personnel should present their employee ID or professional organization membership card to LEGOLAND Florida’s ticket window the day they plan to visit to redeem their one free admission ticket and purchase up to four additional tickets at only $40 per ticket. The valid dates run from 5/1/14-5/31/14.
This new offer runs alongside the park’s active duty military personnel offer, which gives members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reservists free single day admission to LEGOLAND Florida and the LEGOLAND Water Park. To redeem their free admission ticket, active duty military personnel should present their military identification card to LEGOLAND Florida’s ticket window the day they plan to visit. Family and friends of military personnel also receive substantial discounts on admission tickets and should make purchases in advance through participating military base ticket offices.
Also during the month of May, LEGOLAND Florida will open the newest park expansion, DUPLO ® Valley, on May 23. Just in time for family fun over Memorial Day weekend, DUPLO Valley is geared to toddlers ages 2 to 5, an ideal place for park guests to play and relax with new farm-themed attractions, including the DUPLO Train, DUPLO Mini-Tractor, DUPLO Barn and DUPLO Splash n’ Play.
“We are excited that the final stages of DUPLO Valley are coming into place,” said LEGOLAND Florida General Manager Adrian Jones. “This new expansion, along with the introduction of the Preschool Pass, improves our offering to families with toddlers ages 2-5, giving them a whole new experience only available at LEGOLAND Florida.”
Recently, the park completed installation of an iconic archway to the site of the DUPLO ® Valley expansion, marking the final major construction milestone ahead of the area’s opening. DUPLO Valley brings the LEGO® DUPLO line of preschool building toys to life with new farm-themed attractions, an air-conditioned indoor play area, and a water play area all geared to toddlers ages 2 to 5.
LEGOLAND Florida also announced its first-ever Preschool Pass, now available for purchase at the park. The Preschool Pass includes weekday admission to LEGOLAND Florida and standard parking for both one child under five and one adult for a full year at $90, plus tax. Assigned to the child, the pass allows an adult parent or guardian to attend the park with the toddler. The pass is transferrable to multiple adults in the family, allowing, for example, a mother to visit one day, and a grandparent the next, making it ideal for families to bring their little ones to LEGOLAND Florida during the week.
No blackout days apply, with the Preschool Pass valid Monday-Friday only. The Preschool Pass is available at the LEGOLAND Florida ticket office located at park entry or on Florida.Legoland.com later this week.
DUPLO Valley will be the ideal place for park guests to play and relax with their toddlers. New attractions coming to DUPLO Valley include the new DUPLO Train, DUPLO Tractor and DUPLO Splash & Play. Another key element will be the reopening of the DUPLO Barn, which will feature significant enhancements to allow kids to play indoors in the comfort of air conditioning.
The new DUPLO Valley adds excitement to LEGOLAND Florida’s line-up of more than 50 rides, shows and attractions dedicated to children of ages 2 to 12.
Of course, the biggest weekend during the summer is Independence Day weekend, and LEGOLAND ® Florida is celebrating the 4th of July weekend in 2014 with its annual Red, Brick and Boom event, filled with fireworks and activities the whole family can enjoy. The special all-American blow-out bash is filled with atmospheric entertainment, backyard games and a party in Miniland USA. As part of the fun, families can help build LEGOLAND Florida’s American Flag during the day while witnessing fireworks turn into millions of exploding LEGO® brick at night through special 3D glasses. Park hours will be extended to 9 p.m. during the three-day event.
Red, Brick and Boom will run from Friday, July 4th through Sunday, July 6th and is included in park admission. The best way to experience both LEGOLAND Florida and LEGOLAND Water Park is with a two-park Florida resident annual pass, for just $129. The pass includes unlimited admission to LEGOLAND Florida and LEGOLAND Water Park, free parking, dining and retail discounts along with other great perks only available to pass holders.
