Most of us actors are happy that we are chosen to be in stage plays, TV and movies, but we stand with our mouths open in awe of the actors that can perform in one person shows and make the presentations a huge success. Memphis actress and singer, Jackie Murray is a "One Person Phenomena," and has demonstrated her ability to take an audience into her world in her portrayal of Harriet Tubman in the one person show, "Harriet Tubman - One Woman's Journey."

This fabulous entertainer, who is represented by the Lisa Lax Agency is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. She has a smile and a hello for everyone, but she stands alone in her talent. An actress and singer like Jackie steals a show without even trying.

Jackie describes herself and her talent in her website. "I am a member of the Hattiloo Theatre Company in Memphis, TN where I was most recently in the musical, "Sarafina!" and will soon be appearing in August Wilson's "Seven Guitars" February 13-March 2. I have also appeared on stage at DeSoto Family Theatre (Muzzy in "Thoroughly Modern Millie"), Playhouse on the Square (Motormouth Maybelle in "Hairspray") and at The Harrell Theatre (Tituba in "The Crucible"). I am represented by The Lisa Lax Agency and can also be seen in several local TV commercials and films. I penned my first one woman show, "Harriet Tubman: One Woman's Journey," after The Imperial Dinner Theatre in Pocahontas, Arkansas, requested that I do so.

I relocated to Memphis from Baltimore in 2005 and work as an assistant for a major hotel chain headquartered in Memphis. I am the proud mother of two and a grandmother of one. My motto is "not pursuing your dreams is like being a bird that is afraid of heights."
