“My style is usually described as clean, with an edge that captures the personality and essence of my subject. I like to include small details like accessories, while keeping the overall setup simple, allowing me to focus on the subject.” One thing Phoenix, Arizona based fashion photographer Alex Bussa didn’t mention was how eye popping and outstanding his style makes his photos become. From a simple smile on a beautiful girl, to candy dripping off of lips, to a beautiful woman sitting on a tire that would make the most avid gear head think about replacing his axles and struts for beautiful women; Alex’s style is magnificent.

When asked what more he wanted to do in his photography career, Alex simply said, “I'd like to keep doing exactly what I'm doing now, but a lot more of it.” Alex’s passion and confidence in his product is very evident and is the cornerstone in his success. Alex however, is not a one-man-band, even though he would like to have the ability to be; “I enjoy my mix of shoots that involve a full team of people from makeup artists, hair stylists, wardrobe stylists, assistants, models, etc... to my simple smaller shoots that typically involve just a model and myself; though, I do have an interest in learning to do my own makeup work for my smaller shoots. I could never replace my favorite makeup artists, but it'd be nice to have that skill as a backup.”

So, as with the wonderful job market right now, there go all the jobs when multi talented Bussa learns how to be all encompassing and completely self sufficient. Is there hope for makeup artists, hair stylists, and photo assistants? Yes. So, before you try to sabotage Bussa, as that will most likely not inspire him to give you a job, live in hope with these words from Bussa himself; “My absolute favorite makeup artist is Lorri Mitchell. Nearly every single shoot we've done together, including our conceptualizing and experimenting shoots, we totally rock out. We're never afraid to reel in an outlandish idea or propose alterations that bring the concept up to the next level.” Lorri has worked with Bussa multiple times, and, with hard work and talent, has been brought back again and again- and so can you; so, kick those recession/failing job market blues!
