Following the release of buzz track “One Way Trigger,” rock band The Strokes unleashed the first official single from their new album on Wednesday. The chipper “All the Time” will serve as the group's latest release.
Last month's “One Way Trigger” found The Strokes going on a very experimental tangent with front man Julian Casablancas hitting the falsetto over an A-Ha-inspired production. Perplexed fans will be more pleased with “All the Time,” the group's actual single that harkens back to their lo-fi garage sound. Over rolling guitars and laid back production, Casablancas's low croon is filtered as he muses: “All that time I need is never quite enough.” With a spirited guitar solo by Nick Valensi near the song's end, it becomes a true return to form for The Strokes.
Both aforementioned tracks will be featured on The Strokes' fifth studio album, “Comedown Machine.” The forthcoming record will hit shelves on March 26.
